Confirmed cases of chickenpox at PCN After-Hours Clinic

The after hours clinic in Grande Prairie is taking precautions after confirmed cases of chickenpox. Anyone who suspects they or their child is infected is asked not to sit in the waiting room.

Instead, there’s a sign on the entrance to the Primary Care Network clinic with a number to call. A staff member will come down to let you in the back door, and you’ll wait in a separate room to avoid exposing the virus to anyone else.

The symptoms include a rash and a fever. Chickenpox is a vaccine-preventable illness that Alberta Health Services recommends getting immunized against.
