A new fire tanker truck is needed for use around Grande Prairie and the newly annexed areas of the city. Fire Chief Dan Lemieux and the logistics officer presented a recommendation to City Council last night to purchase a new tanker truck. He says that they will need the truck in the next three to four weeks because of the lack of water availability in the new areas the city serves. The cost will be about $340,000 before tax. Council says yes to the adding a second truck to their fleet.
