Aquatera eyes federal money for local projects

Aquatera is seeking approval from it’s three municipal partners to apply for funding for a number of projects under the New Building Canada Fund. CEO Bernd Manz says they have identified 10 projects – both short and long term – that qualify for funding.

“Our top two priorities are to do improvements at the Wapiti River with new intake and riverbank protection, and new raw water storage.  Our second highest priority would be to construct a trunkmain and forcemain that would allow for growth in the west end of the city for new industrial and commercial lands.”

The forcemain would also be connected to the Clairmont lagoon, which would support future growth in that community.
