Man found asleep in stolen vehicle charged

A man has been charged after being found in a stolen vehicle last Saturday in Grande Prairie. RCMP say 41 year old Gordon Stanley Webb has been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and three counts of failure to comply with conditions of undertaking or recognizance after a traffic stop.

RCMP say a traffic stop was underway on Saturday January 23rd on 125 Avenue when they pulled up behind the stolen vehicle. Officers say they approached the vehicle to find the suspect was sleeping behind the wheel while it was running. Officers say Webb remains in custody after appearing in court on Monday January 25th.

Police say during the investigation two stolen trucks and other miscellaneous property including three stolen license plates were recovered.
