Training a puppy can help someone in your community. Dogs with Wings Assistance Dog Society Volunteer Coordinator, Kerri Davis says the society trains 6 different types of dogs such as dogs for the visually impaired and victim services. Davis says they are always looking for volunteers.
“Anyone who is willing to give us their time and patience. You don’t need to have experience with dogs or a whole list of qualities. As long as you have time, you can be patient and create a schedule to care for your dog.”
She says volunteers should be able to spend time with their dog and bring them along with their day-to-day activities. She adds puppies are on the way in the early spring looking for homes. You can visit their website for details on what the society’s needs are.
