GP Sport Connection to host Olympic coach Renée Sonnenberg for a free event

The Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection is hosting a free event, featuring Olympic coach Renée Sonnenberg.

During the event, the four-time curling Olympic coach will be sharing stories from her coaching and curling journey, including her recent experience at the 2026 Olympics.

Executive Director with Sport Connection, Heather Llewellyn says that event is targeted towards coaches in the region.

“The session is aimed towards coaches, and people who may wanna coach. She’s giving highlights of her living experiences, along with telling tips and stuff on coaching and stuff that she has learned from coaching at this big international role.”

Sonnenberg will also be sharing her perspective on the evolving role of a coach, and how data, analytics, and video can enhance impact in high-performance sport.

After some storytelling, the event will have a Q&A for anyone with questions or wanting to learn more.

Llewellyn mentioned that plenty of tickets are still available, but encourages those who are interested to get a ticket as early as possible.

The event is free, and you can get a ticket through the Sport Connection website.

The event will be taking place at the KMSC Law Performing Arts Theatre on June 2, starting at 7:00 p.m.
