CRA phone scam still targeting Peace region

A tax-related phone scam continues to make its way around the Peace Region.
 
The RCMP detachment in Grimshaw has gotten several reports from residents who say they were called by someone claiming to be either an officer or a Canada Revenue Agency employee. The callers say there’s a warrant out for their arrest and they have to pay for unpaid taxes over the phone.
 
Anyone who gets a call like that should hang up and not give out any personal information. If it sounds suspicious, it likely is.
