UPDATE: Several injured following bus rollover on Highway 672

Several people were injured after a bus rollover on Highway 672 on Wednesday morning.

The Beaverlodge RCMP said shortly after 7 a.m. the bus was transporting oilfield workers and there were a total of 17 people onboard. Of those 17, several were transported to hospital by EMS for minor injuries. Officials say four people were transported to hospital in critical condition, two by STARS and two by EMS.

No fatalities have been reported at this time. The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing but speed, weather and alcohol are not believed to be a factor.

The highway was closed for the majority of the day as the investigation continued, but re-opened early Wednesday evening.
