RCMP are investigating a robbery that happened in the middle of the night west of Grande Prairie. Two men approached another man walking back to his vehicle near Petro Canada on 119th Avenue at about 2:30 a.m.

The suspects asked the victim if he had a cigarette and then proceeded to threaten him and made him give them his wallet. One of the suspects had a knife on a holder on his waist.

Once the men had the items, they headed toward downtown Grande Prairie in a red four door car. The first suspect is described as Native American, 5’9″, and had a large muscular build. At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing sweat pants, a grey hoodie, and a black touque. The other man was also Native American.

RCMP say they encourage people to stay alert while travelling alone at night. Police recommend that you stay in well-lit areas, stick to well traveled routes and keep valuables hidden.
