A local man in Grande Prairie has joined a very exclusive group of people. Horacio Galanti, Community Safety Director in Grande Prairie, has climbed to all of the highest peaks on all seven continents. His most recent trip was to the top of Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica. Mount Vinson was his second lowest endeavor at 4 897 meters high. Galanti’s highest expedition was to the top of Mount Everest in Asia at 8 850 meters. Horacio has also been to both the geographical north and south poles. Other mountains he has climbed include Kilimanjaro in Africa, Carstensz Pyramid in Australasia, Mount Aconcagua in South America, Mount Denali in North America and Mount Elbrus in Europe.
