Renovations underway for new 9-1-1 call centre

Construction is now underway to transform the City on 99th building into a new emergency dispatch centre.

City officials said once renovations are complete the facility will serve as a public safety communications centre. Staff will answer calls for 9-1-1, Mobile Outreach, peace officers, fire and police.

Several additional city departments are also expected to move into the building, including a presence from the Grande Prairie Police Service.

The City of Grande Prairie anticipates the renovations will be complete by July.
