Nomination deadline for Women of Influence Awards is quickly approaching

The deadline to nominate a women who makes an impact in the community is Monday.

The annual awards honour women who have left a lasting impact on the community through their leadership and contributions, whether as business owners, educators, volunteers, mentors or advocates.

Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton said the awards help celebrate and recognize the women who make an impact in the community.

“The awards highlight the power of generosity, collaboration and really the work that is investing in women success. Let’s celebrate the women who give back to our community, who mentor, and continue to foster a strong and thriving community,” she said.

There are five award categories: next generation, game changer, workplace leadership, community leadership and lifetime impact.

Nominations are open until Feb. 9 and are open to women of all backgrounds, experiences and industries. Nomination packages and submission details are available on the City of Grande Prairie website.

An awards reception will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on March 5, in recognition of International Women’s Day, at the Bowes at Bonnetts Energy Centre. Ticket and event details will be released at a later date.
