Fire guardians needed in the County

County residents with a strong sense of community and who enjoy meeting people are needed to fill Fire Guardian positions.

Fire Marshal Ken Atamanchuk explains they’d be responsible for issuing fire permits during wildfire season, as well as educating others about safe burning practices. They would be paid for their time.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s licence in the case that they have to inspect burn sites in person. Anyone interested is encouraged to contact Atamanchuk through the County by February 5th.
