Arrest made in High Prairie homicide

UPDATE: Dakota Anderson has been charged with second degree murder.

One of two men wanted in connection with the homicide of a young man in High Prairie last summer has been arrested.

RCMP says 20 year old Dakota Anderson of Gift Lake, Alberta has been charged with the murder of Ryan Joseph Ellefson. The 20 year old was found unconscious at a gas station in the early morning hours of July 29th, 2015, and later passed away in hospital.

Police are still looking for 20 year old Jesse Prestly Laboucan, who has also been charged with his murder. It’s believed he’s hiding out in High Level but he’s also known to frequent Grande Prairie, Peace River, Hay River, High Prairie and Slave Lake.

Anderson’s first court appearance is set for Monday.
