Catholic School District trip to Greece changed due to safety concerns

Grande Prairie and District Catholic Schools students had planned on travelling to Greece this year, but concerns for safety have changed their itinerary. The school district’s insurance company has declared that travel to Europe in not currently safe for student trips, due to recent events.

Instead, the Board of Trustees has voted to change the nine-day trip to Japan, during which they’ll be immersed in the rich culture of the country through a guided tour of Tokyo, along with several other cities and culturally important sites.

Future international travel destinations will also be evaluated based on the safety of students.
