Jacobs family named Saddle Hills Farm Family of The Year

The Jacobs family has won the Saddle Hills County 2025 Farm Family of The Year Award.

Burnt River Ranch is located in Woking, AB and has been ran by Cole and Brittney Jacobs Jacobs 2018, joined in recent years by children Stella and Beau. The family currently is raising ducks, pigs, cows, horses and chickens. The farm currently is providing the local community with free-range eggs, grass-fed pork, and poultry.

Despite starting the farm in 2018, the family follows traditional farming practises that have taken place for generations, while also modernizing the practises with new ideas and up-to date technology.

Officials say an example of that is the families YouTube channel and social media pages, where they post information that can be useful for producers.

Nominations for the 2026 award will be open next fall.
