Battle of the Badges game to follow the Christmas Tree Light Up

The Grande Prairie Battle of the Badges charity hockey game is set for the end of the month.

The November 30th game will follow the Christmas Tree Light Up at Bonnetts Energy Centre. Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with hot chocolate, snacks, a holiday movie and a special visit from Santa.

Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton said traditions like this highlight the community’s spirit during the season.

“Annual traditions like the Christmas Tree Light Up remind us how special it is to be part of a community that comes out to join in holiday spirit and fun each year. We’re grateful to work alongside the Downtown Association to create a celebration that brings families, friends and neighbours together in the heart of our city.”

Puck drop for the matchup between the Grande Prairie Fire Department and local police officers is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Admission is by cash donation to Odyssey House.
