The 13 local organizations that benefit from the Cars for Christmas Mega Lottery will not be hurt by its suspension. The lottery draw Tuesday was put on hold by the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission found an inconsistency in drawing procedures.
12 prizes had already been drawn, and those winners will still be honoured. Another draw will have to be held, with another set of the top prizes up for grabs, along with number 13 through 100. The scratch n’ win prizes also need to be handed out, but the Christmas Cash Bonus Draw was done correctly.
The Swan City Rotary Club says on social media that its non-profit partners will not be affected by the cost of duplicate prizes.
