Salvation Army all smiles as recipient of Tim Hortons charity campaign

The Salvation Army can expect a few reasons to smile this holiday season as the Tim Horton’s smile cookie campaign gets underway with proceeds going towards help those in need.

From November 17th to the 23rd, the Tim Hortons smile cookies will be back on the shelves across Canada, and locations in the region come together to pick one local charity that they can support during the holiday season. Grande Prairie’s choice of charity will be the Salvation Army Foodbank.

Salvation Army Captain Peter Kim says this extra donation bump goes a long way during this time of year.

“The Salvation Army greatly appreciates the Tim Hortons smile cookies because it actually does put a smile on my face, the proceeds that come to the Salvation Army goes to the families that are in need, and we’re grateful for that. Every donation helps in terms of making sure that everyone in our community who are struggling can get access to food.”
