You have the right to remain generous: GP Mounties looking to Cram The Cruiser

Grande Prairie RCMP will be in pursuit for donations for the local food bank as part of its Cram the Cruiser fundraiser.

From November 22nd until the 23rd, both the RCMP and the Grande Prairie Police Service will be posted up at Save-On-Foods taking food donations for the Salvation Army from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

Last year the fundraiser was one of the best yet, filling up 10 different police cars with groceries and toiletries, RCMP Corporal Patrick McPhee says the goal this year is to beat 10 cruisers, but something is better then nothing.

“The primary goal is try to cram a cruiser, and see how many different cars we can fill up with donations. At the end of the day, anything is better than nothing, whatever we get is good.”

Some of wish-list items the food bank are asking for include Kraft Dinner, canned items, school snacks, body wash, deodorant, and toothbrushes.

The Salvation Army will also be present, taking cash donations.
