Odyssey House Adopt-A-Family program back in 2025

You can help a family this holiday season as part of the annual Grande Prairie Odyssey House Adopt-a-Family program.

Running since 2017, the Adopt-a-Family program is a staple around Christmas in Grande Prairie, with thousands of dollars raised and donated to help dozens of families each year receive gifts, groceries, and essentials.

Those interested in participating as a sponsor will be matched with a family in need, before the Odyssey House provides details regarding them including their interests, hobbies, clothing sizes, gender, and ages, to help sponsors choose personalized gifts for them to enjoy on Christmas morning.

Sponsors are asked to purchase gifts for both the children and caregiver, along with a grocery card and wrapping paper.

Officials suggest that the average cost of holiday gifts is between $75 and $150 per child, and approximately $150 for the caregiver of the family.

Gifts must be delivered by December 10th; however, those who are unable to deliver are asked to contact Odyssey House to schedule a pick-up. You can learn more about the adopt-a-family program, and all other services provided by Odyssey House here.
