Grande Prairie RCMP is looking for dashcam or surveillance footage in connection to an alleged armed robbery that took place in the city early Monday morning.
Police say they got a call about an armed robbery was attempted at around 6:45 a.m. on 70 Avenue, between 88 Street and 90 Street. It’s believed a a man wearing a ski mask approached a woman while holding blunt weapon, and what was later described as an imitation firearm while attempting to a female victim.
The robbery was stopped after a nearby witness intervened, and the suspect fled the area on foot. Despite their best efforts, police, including the use of a K-9 unit, police were unable to track down those involved.
Anyone with video footage of the area, be it home security or dashcam, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., is asked to please review the footage and contact the RCMP if they are able to assist.
