Two people from Grande Prairie are facing numerous charges after allegedly fleeing from police near Hinton earlier this month.
Authorities say that on September 16th, officers located a vehicle that had been reported stolen at a residence within the Hinton area, and when they attempted to talk to the home-owners they received an un-related call about a firearm, shifting their attention elsewhere momentarily.
The two accused then allegedly ran out of the house and got into the stolen vehicle in an attempt to flee, but not before reportedly hitting police vehicle and wooded area.
Mounties say the vehicle was seen heading towards Grande Cache, and several units were able to get ahead to successfully deploy a tire deflation device before eventually arresting the two occupants.
A 38-year-old man and 37-year-old woman are facing a slew of charges including possession of property obtained by crime and obstruct police officer.
