Peace Regional RCMP warns of public risk after amphetamines seized

Amphetamines allegedly seized from a vehicle in Dixonville have prompted a warning from Peace Regional RCMP.

Mounties say on September 18th they were on the lookout in the area for a suspicious vehicle that had been reported, when they happened upon a truck without a matching plate. Police say the vehicle was stolen from a residence in Mackenzie County in August.

Peace Regional RCMP say a search of the vehicle lead to the seizure of a number of items including approximately 487 grams of suspected Amphetamine in crystal form, 17.2 grams of suspected Amphetamine made to look like small pink, purple and blue beads and approximately 23.6 grams of suspected Amphetamine, in crystal form hidden inside of shotgun shells.

Mounties are asking you to remain vigilant you they find any items that look similar, especially given how some looks like beads one would use for crafts or that a child may play with unknowingly.

In addition to the alleged drugs, police also seized a gun, ammo, suspected bottles of GHB, a pile of tools, jewelry, watches and the truck itself.

Authorities suggest it’s likely more items are likely to be found with a more fulsome search of the vehicle, and they will be looking to locate the rightful owners of any items.
