Rotary Dream Home opens Friday

Tickets are now on sale for the Rotary Dream Home. This year’s home is back in Taylor Estates, and Raffle Manager Kevin Hilgers says it’s the highest valued yet.

“Between the lot and the home, it’s a home that’s worth $1.4 million. That includes landscaping; in fact we have an extensive water feature in the back yard. It includes about $17,000 worth of furnishings that all stay with the home.”

Viewing starts Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and as people make their way through the home, they’ll see custom art for sale by local artists, a 14 foot barrel vaulted ceiling, and lazy “Shoe-zanne” in the master bedroom. Another selling point is the in-floor heating on all levels and the garage.

The fundraiser has run in the community since 1993 and has raised millions of dollars for community groups. Hilgers hopes they sell out for the fourth year in a row.

“The first year we sold out was the first time we’d ever sold out in well over a decade, so we’re really on a roll with this Dream Home Lottery. I think that people are excited about it; they’re excited about where the home is and what the home is.”

Tickets can be bought online at www.winadreamhome.ca as well as by calling 780-513-8887.
