Lions Park new inclusive playground is now open to the community

The brand new inclusive playground in Lions Park is officially open to the community.

The playground was built with the intention of making everything accessible for kids in the community with special needs. It will feature equipment with wide ramps for wheelchairs to go on. It will also feature roller slides, the We-Go-Round and the Sway Fun Glider, which are all inclusive equipment.

Because of the equipment on the park kids with special needs can engage with the playground more than any other traditional park.

The playground was gifted by the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charity.

This will park will now be one of four inclusive parks in Grande Prairie.

A grand opening celebration for the park is planned for spring of 2026.
