Artist wanted to paint new life into Legion building

The Grande Prairie Legion Branch #54 is in search of an artist to paint a mural on their building next spring.
Branch President Dean Langton say they are currently taking applications for the project, with interested artists from as far away from Yellowknife, with others comings from places like Calgary, as well as several from Grande Prairie.
He  says they’re looking for something that represents both the past and the present, and are hoping a local artist can bring that to life.
Langton adds they are looking for an idea that would involve all 4 services in the mural, that being the RCMP, Army, Navy, and the Air Force.
Officials have yet to decide on a budget for the project, but the goal is to have the mural completely painted by mid spring of 2026.
The last day to submit an application is September 20th.
