Fort St. John couple viciously attacked by dogs

A couple from Fort St. John, B.C. is recovering from a vicious dog attack on Christmas Day. A 9-1-1 call came in just before 8 p.m. from a frantic woman saying two dogs had killed her cat and were now trying to kill her and her husband.

When officers arrived at the home they found blood smears on the outside of the door and a 51 year old woman that had been bitten. A 66 year old man was unresponsive with serious injuries but still being attacked by the animals.

An officer shot both of them, killing one instantly. The other escaped onto the street with serious injuries and was put down once it was found. It’s unclear who their owner was.

Police say the woman was treated in the local hospital, while the man was flown to Edmonton where he remains in the ICU. A GoFundMe page for the couple, identified as Robin Elgie & Wendy Lee Baker, has raised nearly $5,000 so far to help cover their medical expenses.
