Quit squirmin’, start wormin’ with city Vermicomposting workshop

The city is set to hold a workshop to educate those who want to learn more about turning kitchen waste into a gardening cheat code come spring time.

Using red wigger worms, Vermicomposting is a method indoor composting which help break down kitchen scraps quickly into nutrient-rich soil you can use for your spring gardening.

The workshop, set for September 15th at the Ernie Radbourne Pavillion, will provide all the materials needed to create your very own vermicomposting bin, ready for use by Spring 2026.

If you’re looking to worm your way into the workshop, you can find more information, including links to register, here.
