Owner not hurt in downtown carjacking

Grande Prairie RCMP are looking for a man responsible for a carjacking in the city yesterday. The robbery happened around 7 p.m. in a parking lot near the corner of 100th Avenue and 93rd Street.

The owner of the vehicle was getting in to his car when a man with a knife told him to get out. He cooperated and wasn’t hurt as the suspect drove away in his 2014 Kia Rio. Police found the stolen car a short time later.

The armed man was wearing a dark blue or black hoodie and a mask or a dark scarf covering his face. He also wore blue jeans and brown work or hiking boots at the time. If you can help identify the suspect, contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
