Curbside recycling in Clairmont gets the green light

As of this spring, Clairmont residents will be offered curbside recycling.

203 households responded to a recent survey of the hamlet.

Nearly 70% were in favour.

County Environment Manager Steve Madden says overall, only about 25% of those surveyed took the time to reply.

“We were hoping for a little higher response on it, but at the end of the day, there was a reasonable number that came back saying yes we want it, compared to the no, so council has seen that there is some value there and went with it.”

Meanwhile, council has decided to poll residents of Valhalla, La Glace, and Bezanson to find out if they would be interested in county operated curbside waste collection.
