More construction set to begin on Grande Prairie roads this week

You can expect some construction on 68 Avenue to begin as early as Wednesday, as road rehab work across the city.

Officials say work on 68 Avenue between 108 Street and 116 Street is likely to advance this week, with the Pinnacle Ridge neighbourhood next on the docket with work on Pinnacle Boulevard between Pinnacle Drive and 114 Street and 114 Street between Pinnacle Boulevard and Pinnacle Drive with expected to start June 26th.

The work includes asphalt milling, storm sewer repairs, Full Depth Reclamation (FDR), asphalt overlay paving, spot concrete replacement, re-establishing road line markings and crosswalks and final landscaping.

Impacted roads will remain open but will be limited to alternating single lanes, with a reduced speed limit of 30 km/h in active work zones. Sidewalks and pathways will remain open, and drivers are being reminded to closely follow signage and directions from flag persons.
