The MD of Greenview has issued an evacuation evacuation order for everyone between the Smoky River and the Forestry Trunk Road, along all points accessed from the Forestry Trunk Road from km 70 to km 126
The municipality issued the order due to an out of control wildfire located about 81 km southeast of the City of Grande Prairie and 19 km east of Highway 40.
The Forestry Trunk Road is closed from the Canfor Road (km marker 70) on the north to the Simonette Forestry Tower (km marker 126) on the south to ensure the safety of firefighters, firefighting equipment, and the travelling public.
