A trapper from Chetwynd, BC had to be rescued after his quad slid off a cliff Monday night. According to the Alaska Highway News, the man was checking his trapline when he fell more than 20 feet off of a steep embankment.
Chetwynd Fire Chief Leo Sabulsky says the man was lucky he had a cell phone on his to call emergency services, as he was 15 minutes off the road and seriously injured. Local search and rescue, RCMP and BC Ambulance all responded around 5:30 p.m. and STARS Air Ambulance flew him to the QEIIÂ Hospital in Grande Prairie.
He was seriously injured, but is reportedly in stable condition.
