This year’s annual Cars for Christmas lottery is off to a slower start than organizers would like. The lottery got underway in early October and volunteers from 13 local community groups have been putting in lots of hours to help sell tickets.
However, organizers say that those groups cannot be adequately rewarded without a dramatic increase in ticket sales before the lottery closes on December 30th. The proceeds from this year’s lottery will be used to support victims of crime and tragedy, help purchase health equipment through the QEII Hospital Auxiliary, and help send underprivileged kids to Camp Tamarack.
Tickets are being sold for $50 each or three for $100. The deadline to purchase tickets is 7 p.m. on December 30th. The draw date is January 5th.
