Grande Prairie RCMP arrest 14-year-old in connection with recent tire slashings

The Grande Prairie RCMP is advising that after an investigation, police have identified and arrested one male youth after a recent string of tire slashings that occurred in Grande Prairie.

On January 7th, police responded to numerous reports of tires being slashed on vehicles in Grande Prairie.

Ten days later on January 17th, police indicated a 14-year-old Grande Prairie resident, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been arrested and charged with alleged failure to comply with a release order and a court order, and 23 counts of mischief under $5,000.

The youth was released from custody after a judicial hearing and has since been released, with his next court appearance scheduled for February 3rd.
