Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection announces leadership changes

The Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection has announced a leadership transition, following Executive Director Karna Germsheid’s departure to pursue a new role with KidSport Northern Alberta.

Germsheid is credited with numerous projects at the GPRSC, and officials describe her as being “instrumental” in the growth and success of the organization since its inception 11 years ago.

It has been my absolute privilege to work alongside the sport community over the past 11 years and to witness the incredible work being done by all of you,” Germsheid says.

GPRSC Board Chair Julia Dutove took a moment to reflect on her colleague’s exit, thanking Germsheid for her 11 years of service, and wishing her well in her new endeavours.

While we will miss Karna’s leadership at the GPRSC, we are thrilled that she will continue to support the region’s sporting community through her work with KidSport,” she says.

The GPRSC maintains they will continue operating seamlessly, with Marketing and Communications Coordinator Heather Llewellyn assuming the role of Acting Executive Director.
