Grande Prairie Regional Hospital employee wins more than $650K during staff 50/50 draw

A staff member from the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital is ringing in the new year in a big way, with a nearly $655K payday thanks to a recent staff lottery draw.

According to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation, Louella Yaremchuk won the WinWin Staff Lottery December Quarterly Cash Draw, winning a grand total of $654,873.

The WinWin Staff Lottery supports health foundations and trusts across the province, and healthcare employees around Alberta are encouraged to participate.

Officials say December’s jackpot is the largest Quarterly Cash 50/50 to date, with this lottery reaching more than $1.3 million and Yaremchuk bringing home half.

Yaremchuk says she was “shocked for the most part” but “incredibly happy” to hear the news. She shared her plans for the money saying she will use it to help her family, do a bit of travelling, and support her children.
