GP Storm kick off 2025 with lengthy road trip

It will be a while before the Grande Prairie Storm face off again at Bonnetts Energy Centre, with a lengthy road trip on the schedule to kick off the second half of their season.

Starting on January 3rd, the Storm will begin a three-game-long road trip, first taking on the Lloydminster Bobcats at Centennial Civic Centre Arena, before heading up to Fort McMurray on January 4th where the boys will take on the Oil Barons at Centerfire Place two nights in a row.

The Storm opened the 2024/25 season in a big way, giving even the number-one-ranked Whitecourt Wolverines a run for their money during the first games of the season. Despite this, the Storm had some difficulty towards the end of 2024, suffering a four-game losing streak to end the year.

While the Storm could have hoped for a stronger finish in 2024, Grande Prairie still remains a serious playoff contender this season, sitting in second place in the North Division, just behind the Wolverines, and fifth overall across the league.

Following their road trip, skaters will enjoy a nearly two-week break before making their 2025 home ice debut in Bonnetts Energy Centre on January 17th against the Devon Xtreme.
