Residents reminded to make way for snow crews as residential clearing continues in County of GP

Snow removal has been well underway across the county so far this winter, with crews making their way through several areas in the Grande Prairie area.

On January 2nd, County of Grande Prairie snow removal crews resumed residential removal in the Hamlet of Hythe, Clairmont, Wedgewood, Taylor Estates, and the Maple Ridge neighbourhoods.

As snow clearing continues throughout the region, residents are reminded that whenever digital no parking signs are visible, temporary parking restrictions are in place, and street parking is not permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to ensure crews can work efficiently.

Officials say vehicles that are left on the street when a parking restriction is in place could be ticketed and towed.

Additionally, residents are reminded piling snow onto roadways is illegal and could result in fines as it can slow the snow-clearing process while creating a traffic safety hazard.
