Escaping suspect rams police cruisers

A man suspected of going on a break and enter spree in the Grande Prairie area has been arrested after several dangerous attempts to escape from police. Local police asked for the help of their counterparts in Dawson Creek to help find a stolen vehicle on Monday.

The driver had fled every time RCMP in GP and Beaverlodge had tried to stop it. An officer from the B.C. detachment found the vehicle parked on a rural logging road with the driver sleeping inside, but he got away by ramming the police cruiser, and others later on.

Once mounties were able to box him in, he ran away but was caught close by. Several items stolen from Grande Prairie were also found. 27 year old James Sylvester Shearer is facing several charges out of B.C. and may see more from Alberta.
