Numerous city facilities, services closed on New Year’s Day

Several city facilities are either closed or are operating under adjusted hours during the Christmas/New Year’s week.

As a result, residents are being reminded that City Hall, the City Service Centre, AccessGP, public transit, Montrose Cultural Centre, Grande Prairie Museum, Bonnetts Energy Centre, Activity and Reception Centre, Dave Barr Community Centre, Cedar Point, and the RCMP Detachment will all be closed in recognition of the holiday.

Despite its closure, the city maintains RCMP officers will remain on duty, and emergency response will not be interrupted.

Some facilities will remain open for the public on New Year’s Day, under adjusted hours. Eastlink Centre, Design Works Centre, and the Ernie Radbourne Pavillion will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On New Year’s Eve, public transit will operate during weekday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with late-night, on-demand service running until 1:00 a.m.
