Extreme cold warning issued for Peace River, Fairview

An extreme cold warning has been issued for the Peace River region Tuesday morning.

Environment Canada officials say extremely cold wind chill values near -40 degrees Celcius will linger throughout the morning hours before warming up a little during the afternoon. However, extreme cold may return to some communities tonight.

Officials are reminding people to watch for any cold related symptoms, including shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, and colour change in fingers and toes.

If it’s too cold for you to stay outside, it’s too cold for your pet to stay outside.
