City snow clearing crews focus on residential “touch-ups” this week

The City of Grande Prairie’s snow-clearing crews are operating in several areas throughout the city this week.

One priority this week is residential “touch-ups” where crews will address missed areas and touch-up areas of concern in the neighbourhoods of Crystal Heights, Crystal Landing, Summit, and Ivy Lake Estates.

Meanwhile, sanding crews are patrolling on Priority One routes following the snowfall over the weekend, and blading and hauling operations are underway on Priority One routes, with a focus on 102nd Street, 96th Street, and 108th Avenue. When it comes to parking lots, crews are hauling snow piles from several city-owned parking lots throughout the city.

Residents are advised to not wait for crews to arrive before moving their vehicles when temporary parking bans are in place as they could be ticketed.

Permanent snow route parking bans are active, banning parking on Priority One and Two routes from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., until the ban is lifted.
