Grande Prairie economic region reports lowest unemployment rate in November

The economic region including Grande Prairie recorded the lowest unemployment rate in the province in November.

According to Statistics Canada, in the 11th month of 2024, 4 per cent of those living in the Banff-Jasper-Rocky Mountain House and Athabasca-Grande Prairie-Peace River were unemployed. A 0.9 per cent downtick from October and down 0.4 per cent compared to the same month last year.

Across the province the unemployment rate was up 0.2 per cent, with 7.5 of the population reported to be without a job with Edmonton reporting the highest unemployment rate at 7.4 per cent.
