Fairview man shoots home intruder

A Fairview man has been charged after shooting an intruder in his home. RCMP say the home invasion happened around 10 p.m. Thursday night when three armed suspects reportedly assaulted the home owner.

The tables turned and the man pulled out a gun and shot one of the suspects. His victim remains in hospital in stable condition while the home owner has since been released.

29 year old Dave Sietsma has been charged with discharging a weapon with intent and two counts of possession of a weapon and ammunition while prohibited. At the same time, one of the suspected intruders, 31 year old Nathan McNamara is facing charges of break and enter and commit, along with assault with a weapon.

Both have court dates set for November 25th. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the local RCMP detachment.
