Highway 43 shooting victims were targeted: RCMP

Grande Prairie RCMP believe a shooting on Highway 43 Wednesday was a targeted attack.

A man and a woman were driving 20 kilometres west of Grande Prairie around 9 p.m. when several shots were fired at them from another vehicle. The pair received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to hospital, while an infant in the vehicle with them wasn’t hurt.

Constable Michelle Mosher says the victims have been “less than forthcoming” about the incident, but police have determined they were the intended targets of the shooting. An investigation into the attempted murder is ongoing, and anyone with info is asked to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
