Snowfall record broken in Grande Prairie Sunday

Yesterday’s snowfall was a record breaking one for Grande Prairie. The previous record for November 15 was set in 1998 when the city saw 10.1 centimetres of snow fall in one day.

Environment Canada says that yesterday Grande Prairie saw more than 15 centimetres fall. A snowfall warning was issued for the Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, and Valleyview around 4:30 yesterday morning, and the snow did not stop until much later in the day.

The forecast is calling for more snow on the way this evening.
