Snow clearing crews to roll out in La Glace, parking bans implemented as a result

The County of Grande Prairie’s snow removal crews are set to roll out in La Glace on November 22nd.

Residents are advised whenever the digital “No Parking” signs along streets are visible, temporary parking restrictions have been implemented and street parking will not be permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to ensure crews can work efficiently.

Officials maintain that vehicles left on the street under a parking restriction could be ticketed/towed.

Residents are also being reminded that piling snow onto roadways is illegal and could result in a fine, as it can hinder the snow-clearing process and create a safety hazard for crews.

The county’s snow removal schedule is similar to the city’s, using a priority system. Hamlets and subdivisions are cleared once 15 cm of snow has accumulated, and officials say a “reasonable effort” will be made to ensure roads are cleared within a 12-day cycle.
