AHS’ annual “Toys for Tickets” campaign returns to Grande Prairie

If you’ve been avoiding your AHS parking ticket fines, now is the time to pay them as AHS’ annual Toys for Tickets campaign is underway in Grande Prairie.

The initiative gives people who recently received an AHS parking ticket the chance to donate a new, unwrapped gift instead of paying their fine.

Director of Parking with AHS, Nick Ternovatsky says the annual campaign is quite valuable to AHS facilities, with last year seeing more than 870 toy donations across the province.

“We are thrilled to continue this tradition, which brings joy to children and families while making the holidays brighter for so many,” he says.

During the campaign, parking services will be accepting toy donations in lieu of fines for tickets issued between November 8th and December 20th. Participants are asked to only donate toys that are new, in their original packaging, suitable for kids between the ages of zero and 17, and valued at $25 or more.

AHS recommends books, art supplies, science kits, electronics, headphones, Lego, baby toys, and gift cards for grocery stores and restaurants for families.

In Grande Prairie, the Grande Prairie Regional Health Foundation was in charge of distributing the toys collected last year to children staying at the hospital.

Donations will be accepted at AHS parking offices during regular hours between November 16th and December 20th.
